The World Day Against Child Labour was first launched by the International Labour Organisation (ILO) in 2002. The day is observed on June 12th every year to draw attention to child labour in society and attract support in the fight against the menance. The National Programme for the Elimination of the Worst Forms of Child Labour in Cocoa (NPECLC) celebrates the day alongside other partners. The theme for the celebration was, “Warning! Children in Hazardous Work, End Child Labour”.
