NPECLC Monitoring Exercises

The NPECLC conducted a monitoring exercise to ascertain the progress of its interventions at the community levels.  The exercise was carried out in all 47 Municipal/Districts Assemblies where the program is being implemented.  The objective was to hold discussions with the District Child Protection Committee Members, Community Child Protection Committee Members and to meet with identified children in the various communities.  It was also to enhance the secretariat verify the authenticity of vulnerable children identified, build personal data on children identified and supported and to get first hand information about the challenges that district and community actors (DCPCs/CCPCs) face in their efforts to ensure the elimination of worst forms of child labour in the cocoa sector.


In all 47 Municipal / District Assemblies were visited, 470 communities were visited and some District Child Protection Committee / Community Child Protection Committee members were interacted with.  The team also ceased the opportunity to interact with children who have been identified and supported by the programme.
