Structures of the NPECLC

The NPECLC Secretariat is staffed by three technical persons, one clerk/driver, and four National Service Personnel, with an office on the premises of the Ministry of Manpower, Youth and Employment (MMYE).

The Technical Working Group (TWG) is a key structure of the NPECLC. The TWG is made up of 20 persons with technical experience in issues relating to child labour in the cocoa sector. It is chaired by the Deputy Chief Executive (Operations) of Ghana Cocoa Board. The TWG provides technical advice for organization of the surveys. It also provides technical backstopping to the implementation of the objectives of the NPECLC.

The National Steering Committee (NSC) on Elimination of Child Labour provides the Government of Ghana with direction towards the overall elimination of child labour in the country. It has a Cocoa Sub-Committee which also provides advice and technical support to the NPECLC to ensure that its work contributes to the achievement of the overall goal of the National Plan of Action on Elimination of Child Labour.
